Background:? September is Childhood Obesity Awareness month. Mayor Jones? Healthy Richmond Campaign, Let?s Move! Richmond, Richmond Public Schools, Richmond City Health District, and Greater Richmond Fit4Kids will rally together to be part of the inaugural National JAM (Just-A-Minute) World Record initiative. The JAM World Record will have 2 million people across the nation take a fitness break on September 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. local time to raise awareness about obesity.
This will raise awareness about the importance of making physical activity a daily habit, ensuring our kids learn healthy habits at a young age and our schools have access to quality physical education programs.
